EDTEC 670 Board Game Project Proposal Detail

If you think this is one of the projects you might want to work on, print this page out or bookmark it.

TitleTravel the World
DescriptionMy idea is the combination of a travel adventure and learning world facts.

The board is a map of the world, with most countries represented (some will be a lighter shade meaning they are not open for play).

The players begin by picking a country to start from. They draw a card, and must answer the question on the card (there are three questions on each card). The questions have to do with another country, ranging in difficulty from "XXX is the capitol of what country" to a picture that they must identify its origin. Each question has a certain number of point associated with it, from 1-5. They can answer any or all of the questions. If they get the question correct, they travel to the country. If they get at least 2 questions correct they are honorary citizens of the country which the card is about. If they get the question wrong, they stay in the original country.

If they choose to answer more than one question from a card, and get any of the answers wrong, they remain on the original country. If they get all questions decided to answer right, they go to the country which the card talks about.

Traveling to a new country gets the player two points. Correct answers get the number of points for each question. Incorrect answers do not get points for the answer, and prevent the player from moving to another country and getting the points associated with the move.

The winner is determined by a combination of the most countries visited and most points.

I have some subject matter expert-ness or can act as the overall facilitator. Audience is 15+
