EDTEC 670 Board Game Project Proposal Detail

If you think this is one of the projects you might want to work on, print this page out or bookmark it.

TitleExtreme Classroom Makeover
DescriptionEnvisioning a geometry game/cooperation game where the students/teams design a school or one aspect of a school--classroom, playground, parking lot, lunch room, auditorium...etc. Audience would be 6th grade but could be made more or less challenging depending on options. Players would need to recognize geometric shapes, determine area and perimeters etc.
It could also be a team exercise where each team builds a different "room" of the school. Each team needs to make sure its room fits within the school's overall parameters and that all the rooms fit together. Each room needs furniture, windows, doors and each team needs to utilize space effectively.
I am picturing a board that's a graph, cards the player draws that tells team what they are building and a card that gives them the overall parameters for that room. Might also include a budget and/or time constraints.

Dana Ditman is on "board" for this and is an art/Photoshop pro. We could use a math and/or upper elementary person SME, as well.
