Learning, Motivation & Fun
What makes things interesting and motivating in a class or other learning environment? When you learn something on your own, what conditions lead to your throwing yourself into it without external rewards? While there are theories to address these questions, it's always useful to begin with direct experience.
This site represents over 140 interviews conducted by students in EDTEC 670 at San Diego State University. It is used in the course as a source of discussion material and raw data to examine through the lenses of Malone and Lepper's theory of fun, Keller's ARCS Model, and Csikszentmihalyi's theory of enjoyment. While submissions to the database are limited (for now) to members of the class, the database is open to anyone to explore and learn from.
What discoveries will you make?
